House Republicans have proposed a sizable budget for their coveted
Benghazi select committee and may spend more to investigate that scandal
in 2014 than on the entire Veterans Affairs committee.
The House GOP has requested $3.3 million for the Benghazi committee
in 2014 led by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC, pictured) — $2.2 million for
Republicans serving on the committee and a little over $1 million for
the Democrats, according to a document provided to
USA Today by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
